Mike Williams claimed the title in the last round at Snetterton as the title went down to the wire with 4 drivers in contention. After Round 9 held on the Saturday four drivers were still in with a chance for the title with Andrew Ashton looking the favourite. Heavy rain greeted the drivers for the last race so any mistakes would be costly. Lee Connell stared on pole with Mike Williams alongside, Andrew Ashton in 3rd and final contender Jack Ashton in 6th. After the first lap Williams had built a small gap over Andrew Ashton. The gap steadily increased until Ashton set a very fast lap to bring the gap down to 3 seconds. Unfortunately, Ashton then had a mechanical issue and lost all his oil and a forced retirement. Track conditions were now treacherous due to the oil with all drivers being cautious. Williams had a comfortable lead and nursed the car home in front of Lee Connell to take the win and the overall title. Congratulations Mike on a successful and consistent season. Two outright wins and 7 podium finishes, well done, a great season.
