The championship battle continued at Oulton Park, with an action-packed weekend delivering close racing, impressive recovery drives and plenty of drama throughout the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qualifying was shared with the MG Cockshoot Cup, adding an extra level of intensity as drivers pushed to extract every last tenth of a second around the challenging Cheshire circuit. With the Race 1 grid decided, competitors faced a unique start format, lining up behind the MG Cockshoot Cup field before being released 20 seconds later to begin their own race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the lights went out, the front runners wasted no time in establishing their positions, while those further down the order looked to make progress through the tightly contested field. Oulton Park’s demanding layout once again produced plenty of close racing and overtaking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the standout performances came from Matthew Simpson, who overcame a difficult start to the weekend. After gearbox issues during qualifying forced him to begin Race 1 from the pit lane, and a last-minute dash after forgetting his gloves before the race, Simpson delivered an impressive recovery drive through the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Richard Garrard’s race proved more challenging, with an early spin dropping him down the order and leaving him with work to do for the remainder of the contest. Elsewhere, the midfield battles remained fiercely competitive throughout, providing excellent racing from start to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A special mention must go to Emma Cross, who successfully completed her first-ever race meeting. Keeping out of trouble and gaining valuable track experience, she can take great confidence from a solid debut performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the day progressed, attention turned to the final race of the weekend. With the championship already beginning to take shape, the closing encounter at Oulton Park delivered exactly the spectacle everyone was hoping for. One of the highlights was the superb battle between teammates Jack Ashton and Matthew Simpson, who traded positions and fought hard throughout the race, providing an entertaining contest for spectators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, mechanical issues brought an early end to the weekends for Jon Moore and Tim Davies, both of whom were forced to retire before the finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the closing stages, Tim Shooter seized his opportunity, making a decisive move to secure an excellent third-place finish, narrowly ahead of Ben Young after a closely fought battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
