A-Series to K-Series Conversion
One of our regular drivers, Robbie Kenning, who spent his first three seasons campaigning his 1380 A-series–powered Mk1 Challenge car, has taken on the task of becoming the first driver to convert an A-series car to K-series power 🤯
Following a hugely successful 2024 campaign that secured the championship win, this project comes as part of a regulation change voted in by the drivers at the end of the 2024 season, ahead of 2025. The aim of the change is to provide a more cost-effective way of keeping A-series cars on the grid, helping to bring more cars – and more competitors – back into the championship 🚗💨
This will be the first car converted and run within the club, meaning there is plenty to learn along the way – both for Robbie during the build and for the club as we assess whether this is a viable route to getting some of those tucked-away A-series cars back on the grid 👏
The car is currently undergoing a full strip-down, followed by a complete rebuild and repaint, featuring a fresh twist on its iconic livery. A full re-wire is also required, and with not long to go, the race is well and truly on! ⏱
