Oulton Park Race Report
The stage is set at Oulton Park, and the tension is already building! Sharing the qualifying session with the MG Cockshoot Cup brought even more intensity, with drivers pushing the limits to secure every possible advantage.
With the Race 1 lineup now locked in, it’s all to play for. We’ll be lining up just behind the MG Cockshoot Cup field, before being released after 20 seconds to start our charge – setting the stage for a fast and frantic run into the race.
Front runners will be eager to turn their pace into an early advantage, while those further back will be ready to make bold moves and carve their way through the pack.
Oulton Park never fails to deliver close battles and edge-of-your-seat moments…and this grid for race 1 is shaping up to be no exception.
Matt Simpson produced a strong recovery drive after being forced to start from the pit lane due to gearbox issues in qualifying and forgetting his gloves before the race! Meanwhile, Richard Garrard’s race was compromised early on following a spin that dropped him down the order.
Further back, the field delivered close, competitive racing throughout. Emma Cross also successfully completed her first ever race, keeping it clean and gaining valuable experience on debut.
The championship is already starting to heat up.
Race 2 is due to start at 18:05pm (hopefully in time before the 18:30pm curfew!)
Final race of the weekend at Oulton Park delivered exactly what we hoped for non-stop action from lights out to the chequered flag.
There were intense, wheel-to-wheel battles between team mates Jack Ashton and Matthew Simpson throughout, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. Unfortunately, we lost Jon Moore and Tim Davies before the finish due to car issues.
Meanwhile, Tim Shooter seized his moment late in the race, sneaking through to secure an impressive P3 finish just ahead of Ben Young.
A fantastic way to round off the weekend.
